Hampus Holmer is an MD/PhD candidate in surgery and public health at Lund University, Sweden. Part of the Paediatric Surgery and Global Paediatrics Research Group, his research focuses on measuring met and unmet need for surgery, anesthesia and obstetrics in the context of broader health system performance.

He has previously worked with the WHO to create the WHO Global Surgical Workforce Database and was Research Associate at the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School and of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. Mr. Holmer has also worked for the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Rwanda.
